Double sided stoves are becoming increasingly popular in traditional and contemporary homes. The first double sided stoves were more the preserve of country pubs where the rooms had been knocked through and a double sided stove, or double vision stove as I like to call them was needed to heat both rooms.

Double sided stoves do provide a very practical solution for heating two rooms where there is only space for one flue, ultimately they are cheaper than installing two separate stoves. The freestanding style of stove is a great solution for dividing a large room.

There are also some amazing inset double sided wood burners, these are built in flush to a dividing wall and suit a a contemporary new build or barn conversion. Modern wood burning double sided stoves come with air wash facilities to keep the glass clean, they light easily and heat up quickly, many have double glazed glass doors for extra efficiency. The Scan brand is a particularly modern range of stoves that includes a look through inset stove, we also sell the Ekol range of freestanding stoves. The model pictured above is the Ekol Clarity Vision 12-14 kW.
