If you are confused by which flue you need, come and see us at The Fire Engine for some free advice and get the system you need.

Flue and chimney systems are at first thought so simple as they are the most hidden part of any stove installation. However, sizing the right flue components to your stove will make all the difference between an amazingly controllable stove with a beautiful flame pattern and one that burns too fast and over draws. A stove burning too fast wastes heat up the chimney and will chomp through your logs in no time giving little heat and costing the earth in fuel.

Most houses with an existing chimney breast will be lined with a flexible stainless steel flue liner which come in two different grades of steel - 316 and 904. 316 is suitable for wood burning only stoves but the more expensive 904 grade will stand the test of time and cope with the rigours of burning solid fuel (like Homefire Ovals).

If you do not have a conventional chimney, then we can design a Twin Wall insulated flue system using a top of the range British brands such as Nova or Eco ICID (Nova is manufactured in Barnstaple). Twin wall chimneys are almost exactly what they sound like - two pipes, one bigger than the other, with insulation packed in between. Twin wall systems come with a bewildering array of components. They are fitted together with a twist lock design and locking bands to hold the pipes together - elbows, adjustable lengths and wall sleeves are just some of the fire safe components we supply.
