Ecodesign, Lot 20 - What's that all about?
Ecodesign is the European Union’s programme for lowering emissions across Europe.
On 14th October the member countries agreed on the emission limits for biomass appliances including wood burning stoves. This part of Ecodesign is known as Lot 20.
The legalisation is due to be implemented in 2022 and cover a broad range of emissions including CO2, NOx and CO.
Here at The Fire Engine we support clean burning, highly efficient wood burning stoves (regardless of whether we are part of the European union) the great advantage for all of us apart from clean air is, more heat for less wood, and that's got to be a good thing.
Our main brands including Fireline, Purevision, AGA, Ekol and Chesney's are already well ahead of the curve and compliant with the design guidelines for Ecodesign, Lot 20 - 2020.
Ecodesign stoves will still require the right fuel in the form of clean dry logs or Heat Logs and Wood Briquettes, combine this with this new form of modern wood burner and the chimney will have very little soot because of the ultra clean burn.
Come to our showroom in Bideford and find out more about Ecodesign and Ultra clean burn technology.
