During the changeable weather conditions of Autumn the outside temperature can rise suddenly and become warmer than the the temperature within your house.

This causes the air within your chimney flue to reverse its normal flow or draw and air travels back down the flue instead of up and out. If you are trying to light a fire in these conditions especially if it is the first time after giving your stove the summer off this may be the reason you find it hard to light.

If you need more information about stove operation and free advice about the best fuels to use come and see us at The Fire Engine in Bideford.
